Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act

Policy of Non-Discrimination

Chelan County Fire District 1 has adopted Article III, Policy 22, Compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act regarding "Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability."

In accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Chelan County Fire District 1 will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities, on the basis of disability, in the services, activities, or physical facilities provided to the public.  Chelan County Fire District 1 will not directly, through contract or other arrangement discriminate against persons with disabilities in providing aid, benefits, services or employment.  Fire District contractors shall comply with ADA requirements and its regulations. 

The Fire District will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in services and activities.  Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service should contact the Fire District at 136 S. Chelan Avenue, Wenatchee, Washington.

Comments and recommendations to help improve accessibility to Fire District services and facilities are encouraged from the public and organizations representing persons with disabilities.  To provide feedback, please use the Contact option on the Menu or call 509-662-4734 (TTY:  711 or 1-800-833-6384 to connect to Washington Relay Service).

Complaints that a Fire District service or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities may be directed to the Fire District, 136 S. Chelan Avenue, Wenatchee, Washington.  The complete grievance procedure is explained in the attached Fire District Policy.
